MONTHLY CHURCH BUDGET is $10,644. Please note your faithfulness in giving your offerings to the Lord. Offerings marked “church budget” are the only funds that help with the operational costs of the church. FYI:   Remember our tithes, which show our faithfulness to God, are based on 10% of your wage or income & offerings have no percentage because it symbolizes the unlimited love for Christ. It can be 3%, 5%, 10%, 20%, etc.

NEXT WEEK’S OFFERING:

 

The Nursery, located in the foyer across from the kitchen, is open for parents needing a private place to feed or change their babies. The Toddler “Time-Out” Room is located in the Beginners classroom during the church service. There are monitors in these rooms so parents can continue to see and hear the worship service.

 

If your small child would enjoy a quiet diversion during the worship service, please see one of the greeters for a children’s “Quiet Bag.” Please return the bags to the basket at the welcome table in the foyer after the worship service.

Announcements for August 27, 2011

 

Today, immediately following the pastoral prayer, those who would like to be part of an intercessory prayer group to pray again over the requests brought to the elder’s Bible are invited to meet in the Swahili classroom (upstairs right) with Mike Hite.

 

All are invited to fellowship lunch after the worship service today in the fellowship hall. To expedite set-up and clean up, everyone please help with set-up and clean-up of chairs, tables and floors in fellowship hall.

Health Expo Training Seminar – final meetings on Monday and Tuesday this week, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. Everyone is welcome to attend . . . you will benefit greatly by doing so!

 

The Tennessee State Fair will be held September 9th - 18th. Adventist Community Services Center will host a booth at the fair featuring healthful living ideas, blood pressure and body fat screenings, health and stress analysis, and free literature to give away with information about health, lifestyle, substance abuse, etc. We need volunteers each evening, 4:00 – 9:00 p.m. Please check your schedule and see if you can volunteer some time to the Fair Booth Ministries. Please use the Volunteer Form located in the foyer. See Dean Flint with any questions and to give him your completed form.

 

Discover Bible School team members will be distributing enrollment cards every Sabbath to anyone interested in passing them out to friends and neighbors. This is an ongoing ministry and we need everyone to get involved! For more information, please see Sheraline Jones, Heather Wilson, Barbara Hodge or Charlotte Hardy.

Sermon Copies: We have available upon request copies of sermons presented each Sabbath. Please find the clip-board in the foyer on the lectern by the double doors and provide the information necessary to get your copy. You can pick up your copy the following week from the lectern. Those who wish to make a contribution of $2.00 (suggested) per CD/DVD to defray the cost may do so by placing money in an offering envelope marked “CD/DVDs.”

 

Please continue to save the UPC/bar code portion of packaging/labels from Worthington Foods, Loma Linda Foods, Morningstar Farms, Morningstar Farms Organic and Natural Touch products. Bring your labels to the church and place in the drop-box located in the foyer. Reimbursed labels will go to the quarterly Sabbath School mission project.

 

The Adventist Community Services CenterRemember, we are responsible for keeping the following food items in stock: Canned beans (all varieties), canned tomatoes, canned fruit, canned soup, canned pasta sauce, pasta noodles (i.e. spaghetti). When we don’t do our part, others must step in and cover for us . . . Please bring in 3 or 4 cans each week to help us keep “our” shelves stocked!

 

ACSC is also in desperate need for VOLUNTEERS any time of day. The Center is open Monday – Thursday, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. They would also appreciate cash donations to help keep the pantry supplies up. You can make donations through the Church – mark your offering envelope “Community Services Center.” They will continue to take donations of clothing, furniture, household items, etc. Thank you for your support!
