MONTHLY CHURCH BUDGET is $9,373. Please note your faithfulness in giving your
offerings to the Lord. Offerings marked “church budget” are the only funds that help
with the operational costs of the church. FYI: Remember our tithes, which show our
faithfulness to God, are based on 10% of your wage or income & offerings have no
percentage because it symbolizes the unlimited love for Christ. It can be 3%, 5%, 10%,
20%, etc.

NEXT WEEK’S OFFERING: Adventist Disaster and Famine Relief (ADRA)

The Nursery, located in the foyer across from the kitchen, is open for
parents needing a private place to feed or change their
babies.
The Toddler “Time-Out” Room is located in the
Beginners classroom during the church service. There are monitors
in these rooms so parents can continue to see and hear the worship service.

If your small child would enjoy a quiet diversion during the worship service,
please see one of the greeters for a children’s “Quiet Bag.” Please return
the bags to the basket at the welcome table in the foyer after the worship
service.

Pastor Santos and family are away this weekend celebrating Elizabeth’s
graduation from Andrews University in Michigan. Please keep them in
prayer for travel safety and may God bless their celebration!

Welcome to the Nashville First SDA Church! We are delighted

Today, immediately following the pastoral prayer, those who would
like to be part of an intercessory prayer group to pray again over the
requests brought to the elder’s Bible are invited to meet in the Swahili
classroom (upstairs right) with Mike Hite.

Children’s Church today - We will meet for children’s story in the
sanctuary and go directly to the fellowship hall for the rest of the church
service. Children ages 4 – 12 are invited to join us. If your child is under
the age of 4, they are welcome to attend with an adult.

All are invited to fellowship lunch after the worship service today in the
fellowship hall. To expedite set-up and clean up, everyone please help
with set-up and clean-up of chairs, tables and floors in fellowship hall.

All Sabbath School superintendents, teachers, assistants, and
secretaries are invited to the quarterly Sabbath School Council meeting
today, May 5 at 2:00 p.m. in the library.

AY meeting today at 2:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall. AY meetings and
activities are for the whole church family – Everyone is welcome to
attend and participate!

The C.O.O.L. (Crochet Out Of Love) meeting on, May 6th has been
cancelled. Please continue to work on your mission projects this month
and we’ll meet again in June.

Scripture Study Series continues on Wednesday evenings, at 6:30 p.m.
in the library. Come join us for this exciting Bible study. Bring your
Bible, Bible study guides (given during Prophecies Decoded seminar)
pen, notebook and a friend!

Graduates: The church family would like to celebrate our graduates in
a special way on May 12th. If you or a member of your family will be
graduating from 8th grade, 12th grade, college or post-graduate degrees,

Church Business Meeting: Nashville First is calling an all church
business meeting for its members on Sunday, June 10th at 9:30
a.m. in the fellowship hall. All members of Nashville First SDA Church
are strongly encouraged to attend this important business session.
Agenda items will include an annual report for 2011, live-streaming
the worship services on the internet, sowing/outreach events in
preparation for “reaping” meetings in the fall and the possibility of

hosting Messiah’s Mansion. Please attend for more information and to
let your voice and your vote count.

Vacation Bible School will be held July 8 – 12 from 6:00 - 8:30pm. This
year’s program is entitled “Sky.” If you would like to help with VBS,
please contact Laura Breece immediately. We have a need for crew
leaders.

responsible for keeping the following food items in stock: Canned
beans (all varieties), canned tomatoes, canned fruit, canned soup,
canned pasta sauce, pasta noodles (i.e. spaghetti). When we don’t
do our part, others must step in and cover for us . . . Please bring in 3
or 4 cans each week to help us keep “our” shelves stocked, or if you
prefer, you can make a monetary donation. Make checks payable to
First Church and mark your offering envelope “ACSC.”

Sermon Copies: We have available upon request copies of sermons
presented each Sabbath. Please find the clip-board in the foyer on
the lectern by the double doors and fill out forms you will find there.
DVDs are $5.00 and CDs are $3.00. Please give your completed form
and funds to the Media personnel (Ric Andal, Brent Cordis, Lauren
Andal) and your order will be processed for the next week. Please

Please continue to save the UPC/bar code portion of packaging/labels
from Worthington Foods, Loma Linda Foods, Morningstar Farms,
Morningstar Farms Organic and Natural Touch products. Bring your
labels to the church and place in the drop-box located in the foyer.
Reimbursed labels will go to the quarterly Sabbath School mission
project.

Church Family News:

We are happy to announce the safe arrival of new babies to our
congregation!
• Kevin Chris, son of Pa Pa Kaw and Bam Bi. Kevin Chris was
born April 23rd at 4:10 p.m. He weighed a healthy 8 lbs, 12 oz.
Congratulations to the family and we look forward to meeting
Kevin Chris very soon!
• Josiah Walters, son of Jesse and Marites Walters was born at
8:05 A.M. on April 30th. He weighed in at 6 lbs, 14.4 oz, and
was 20 inches long. Congratulations Jesse and Marites! We
look forward to meeting baby Josiah very soon.

We regret to announce the death of Lynda Briggs step-father, Rick
Cooper. Rick passed away Wednesday, May 2nd in Maryland. Please
keep this family in your prayers

A memorial service for the mother of Maxine Thomas and Mignon
Charles will be tomorrow, Sunday, May 6th at 2:00 p.m. at Riverside
Chapel. Please continue to lift this family in your prayers for comfort
and wisdom.

• Traditionally, those who attend on Sabbath gather
under the trees on the parking hill opposite the
gymnasium for a potluck style lunch. Bring picnic
blankets, lawn chairs, eating utensils (paper plates,
forks, spoons, etc.) and food!

• First Church will be open for services on Camp
Meeting Sabbaths, May 25th and June 2nd. Any
Elders, Deacons or officers who are not planning
to go to Camp Meeting on those Sabbaths, please
let Dean Flint or Pastor Santos know immediately.
Fellowship lunch will be served after services at First
Church. If you plan to attend services at First Church,
please bring food to share and stay for the fellowship.

• Pastor Santos will be away for camp meeting
responsibilities from Monday, May 21st through
Sunday, June 3rd. Please contact one of the Elders
with your pastoral needs.
