Children's Ministries

Nashville First Church has several opportunities for children to learn about the love of our Lord, the Bible, and how they can live their lives for Christ.

Sabbath School classes are Beginners (or Cradle Roll) for ages infant to 4Kindergarten ages 5-7, Primary ages 8-10, Juniors and Earliteens ages 11-14, and Youth 9th grade and up.

The Beginners class uses different themes to teach how God made our world and us, and how he would have us live for Him. The Kindergarten, Primary, and Junior/ Earliteens classes use lessons from the Gracelink curriculum.

In the summer, we have Vacation Bible School for 5 consecutive nights, Sunday through Thursday, one week a summer, usually in July. The program is designed for ages 4 through 12. Through song, Bible lessons, crafts, games, and snacks based on a central theme, we do a program that speaks to the children's hearts, on their level, to teach them of the love of Jesus. Past themes include Science Lab, African Safari, Western Ranch, and in 2009 we had a Game Show theme.

Children’s Church is held during the last part of our worship hour, one Sabbath a month, in the Fellowship Hall. Like Vacation Bible School, it is designed for ages 4 through 12. The songs, Scripture, Bible lessons, and activities are designed to touch the hearts, as well as hold the interests, of our children so that they will understand that worship is for them too. Children under the age of 4 are invited to attend Children's Church with an adult accompanying them.

We have a Mother's Room with a monitor for use by our nursing mothers. We also have a monitor in our Beginners room. The room is open during our worship service so that parents who have small children. Mom or dad can still see and hear the service from the monitor. Children's Quiet Bags are available to be checked out and returned after church (ask a greeter at the front door). These contain items to help the children have a quiet diversion during the service.

We look forward to seeing you and your children at Nashville First Seventh-day Adventist Church!
